Located in the extreme south of the country, the state of Rio Grande do Sul is the “most European” part of Brazil. Its landscape is brightened by flowers, in sultriness, and whitened by snow, especially in the mountains, where the winter can be rigorous. The mountainous municipalities that most evokes Europe are Canela and Gramado with its mountains, woods, green valleys and flowers galore in the springtime.
